little monkeys

Aren’t they the cutest pair of monkeys you’ve ever seen? Auntie Alia home-made festive fleece ponchos for the girls – they LOVE them. As if that wasn’t enough, when Mark came to Poland he brought along a little monkey and polar bear with matching ponchos Alia had made. Thanks, Auntie Alia!

to explain the bare legs, the girls were getting ready to streak from the hotel room to the pool

good thing they had nice warm fleece ponchos to keep them warm!

  1. I LOVE the look on Maia’s face in the last picture!!! I bet she keeps life interesting! The ponchos are beautiful! Alia did a great job, and what a neat idea to make matching ones for the little animal friends!!! How creative she is! Thanks for the great pictures!

  2. Awesome ponchos. I’m totally jealous. I didn’t know Alia was into sewing! What else has she done? I bet Chloe would get a huge kick out of matching one of her animals or dolls. Maia has the cutest little smile in that first photo on the couch with her monkey. She still has those adorable baby cheeks! Do you kiss and pinch her cheekies all day long?!?

  3. The girls are getting so big and so adorable. Ben “emailed” that you all had pink eye. Hope you are better now. So nice that Jason and his wife are coming soon. I bet you guys can’t wait. Preston is getting to be so much fun. He is at the almost walking stage. :) Talk soon.

  5. hey, guys! Life is indeed a lot more exciting when Maia’s around. For example, she’s been gone with Ben for a day now (they went to Warsaw to pick up Jason S. and then down to Krakow for a conference) and me and Mikaela are as boring as anything. We did have a fun sleepover in my room last night, though.

Al: talk to alia about how to do those ponchos — they are sooo cute and my girls LOVE them! Maia probably wouldn’t agree, but I hope she never loses her sweet baby cheeks! Don’t you feel that way about Chloe? Those chubby cheeks are too cute!

Kim, we’re coming home for a month this July, but we’re flying in and out of Chicago and will never make it up to Michigan (we’re vacationing with the Layers for 2 weeks and then with my family for 2 weeks). But we have our next furlough planned for spring 2008. I can’t wait until our kids can get together with all yours. Maia already knows there’s a little girl named Chae to play with in Michigan. And I’m sure Mikaela would love to help with Preston (she’s quite the little mommy, and mature beyond her 6 years :) . Oh, and our pinkeye is almost gone, thank the Lord! THAT is some nasty stuff.

  6. Again, cute pictures! Thanks for sharing. Pink eye – yuck!! I’m glad you’re going to get to spend time with family in July. How exciting for you guys and for them. Say hi to them all for me (as if you’ll want to spend your short time with family talking about insignificant things like little ‘ol me – but if you think of it, greet them for me). Do you have contact info for Casey & Heidi? I really need to get in touch with them – it’s been so long! And I just got Jason’s email that he’s there – that is so awesome! We’re thrilled for you guys and for what God is doing through you in Poland.

  8. Hey Sarah! So good to see your girls again! They sure are precious, and absolute replicas of you and Ben (Mikaela, of course of Ben, and Maia of you!–that IS what everyone says, right?!?!). Glad to hear that you are going to get some family time home soon–how nice! Wish I was going to get to see you guys. Have a great time with your families! In case you haven’t heard, we are expecting our first little boy in August!!
Nice chatting with you again. Give my love to your family,
